Description
Seeking a Virtualization Engineer with a focus on virtualization technologies for server and desktop-based support. The role's primary responsibility is to support multiple virtual environments across the globe leveraging VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon View, and VCE VBlock converged hardware. The candidate should also have sufficient knowledge of Microsoft servers and desktops, general application support, database connectivity, and VMware-based platforms. Candidates appropriate for the role would likely have career experience in the financial service industry. This is a very hands-on role requiring advanced scripting and automation skills, technical expertise, exceptional judgment, and solid communication skills while working with mission-critical production systems.

The Application Development and Support teams use Agile-based methodologies which leverage automation and iterative delivery processes. We are seeking candidates with prior working experience with Agile methods (such as Extreme Programming and Scrum). The role is based in Wilton, CT.

Responsibilities
Provide end-to-end support for all virtual desktop and virtual server workloads running on VCE VBlock platforms with VMware vSphere hypervisor, while interfacing with other infrastructure teams, software developers, and the end-user
community
.
Advanced understanding of VMware vSphere ESXi and/or VMware Horizon View.
Understanding of Active Directory, role-based security, and group policy management, as well as the ability to configure and troubleshoot database connectivity issues on Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
The ability to write custom scripts and automated reports to manage systems and applications. Leverage
Microsoft TFS for source code control, in order to manage script versions, changes, and deployments.
Drive systems administration work using automated approaches.
Perform all maintenance and troubleshooting of issues on various applications and hardware platforms, while interfacing with appropriate vendors.
Operate under tight timelines and prioritize concurrent projects efficiently.
Collaborate with end-users, business owners, systems administrators, network administrators, and appropriate venders in local or remote physical locations to cooperatively resolve issues and complete projects.

Requirements
5
years' experience supporting and maintaining Windows-based virtual server and/or virtual desktop environments for large organizations within the investment and/or financial
services
industry (banks, prime brokerage companies, trading firms) running on VMware vSphere hypervisor.
Extensive hands-on experience and deep knowledge of the Windows operating system in a virtual environment and application software, including sufficient knowledge of DNS/DHPC/IP addressing.
Experience using scripting languages to automate systems and application management functions (such as Microsoft PowerShell, VMware PowerCLI, Perl, Python, Windows CMD, or others).
Experience managing VCE VBlock hardware platforms a plus (Cisco UCS, EMC VNX/VMAX).
Candidates must be professional, service oriented, articulate, able to explain technical matters in a clear
and concise manner, patient, and must have a genuine interest in proactively helping others in their technical matters.
Must demonstrate an ability and interest in having a hands-on technical approach to the server administration function. Must have an ability to work on multiple concurrent projects, prioritize accordingly, and follow through to completion.
Certifications in Microsoft Windows or VMWare a plus.
Experience working in groups using Agile methodologies such as Extreme Programming and Scrum is highly desired.
A BA/BS college degree with academic exposure to
computer
Science and/or technology.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
