Position
Summary:
The Senior Business Analyst (OSBA) is responsible for providing global, regional, functional and country sanctions screening support services. SBA will be responsible for liaising with global business areas to provide detailed analysis of complex insurance and financial service transactions as they relate to sanctions screening to ensure adherence with legal & compliance regulatory requirements.
Organizational Structure:
This position reports to the Global Sanctions Program Manager and will work closely with Compliance, Legal, IT, AIG companies and regional business leaders.
Performance Objectives:
Position is responsible for advanced sanction screening transaction analysis, workflow, reporting of management policy alignment, procedure and risk assessments client & policy services (submission through collection) for front desk policy booking units, contact & call centers, vendor management, human resources, shared service centers, treasury, insurance policy issuance centers and premium collection areas globally.
Position requires proven capability for sanctions technology & process mapping activity for business applications, conduct gap assessment and manage remediation plans to assigned target dates. Role is responsible for coordination and review of global commercial & consumer sanctions process and technical broker, sponsor, intermediary and other service provider (OSP) vendors supporting sanctions processes. Also undertake regular reviews of the screening system to ensure it is up to date and effective, in particular to keep up to date with name changes in regulatory lists and regularly calibrated (fine-tuned) to ensure it is returning appropriate results (enough accurate hits). Responsibilities include quality assurance reviews of screening activity, monitoring and testing,
Position is responsible for facilitation and development of detailed business requirements, metrics, consolidating and reporting of sanctions activity to appropriate staff across the organization. Additional strong knowledge of various government sanctions technical & functions, underwriting, claims and operations controls, reporting, reconciliation and escalation protocols. Has direct accountability across multiple country & insurance disciplines with respect to requirements for conformance to controls, assessments, analysis, reporting and performance management. Also provides general operations support & analysis in support of sanctions project work.
Accountable for developing requirements for multiple lines of business impacting countries (>70), specific government & AIG based sanctions screening and data management ensuring accurate identification and reporting of information eliminating potential non-compliance fines.
Accountable for holistic performance measurement-KPI data collection, metrics, analysis and reconciliation with internal IT, Operations groups and external vendors (OSP). Also includes analysis and reporting of issues, potential hit review backlogs, project and remediation plans.
Responsible for management of global Operations sanction reviews and escalation, business process rules & requests for system configurations modifications for watch lists, private lists and other sanctions related screening requirements. Accountable for aligning regional local hub and global hub configurations and testing activity.
Responsible for Operations and Compliance group's operations reviews, assessments and development and tracking of remediation plans. Coordinator of user acceptance testing (UAT) and developer of UAT test scripts. Also includes analysis of multiple complex sanctions technologies and supporting technologies to ensure conformance and compliance with standards and policies with critical legal escalation processes and management reporting. The Ideal Candidate Should Have:
Strong HR, Treasury, Submission and Policy Issuance applications knowledge is helpful
Strong business User Acceptance - Coordination skills
Proven analytical skills
Experience with creating and maintaining databases
Advanced problem solving skills
Proven Commercial and Consumer Insurance knowledge, including familiarity with Underwriting processes
Strong planning and project management skills
Excellent interpersonal, managerial and communication skills, both oral and written
Strong payment & collections process assessment skills
Ability to resolve complex control conformance issues
Strong management policy, procedure and operational practice knowledge
Strong knowledge of risk & control assessment management
Strong knowledge of external audit examination practices
Strong sanctions compliance & other AML regulations
Familiarity with Dunn & Bradstreet
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) skills with advanced Excel skills is a must
Experience using MS Project
Strong Visio skills
