Department Overview
The Security Department is responsible for protecting the company's intellectual property through the use of the most effective technologies, processes, and procedures. Due to the nature of our business, Bridgewater maintains one of the highest levels of internal and external information security in the industry. Security is absolutely mission-critical to our continued operations.

The Background Check Processor position will be responsible for the coordination and tracking of all prospective permanent and temp/consultant employee background reports. They will be responsible for communicating with the candidates and hiring managers, as well as external vendors who are used to process the background checks.

The BCP will also need to work with the consulting companies to ensure that they are aware of BW background requirements and that they are in compliance with those requirements. The BCP will also be required to develop and maintain spreadsheets and graphs to track the progress of background requests as well as the completed reviews.

The position has a number of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
o Manage the background check process from initiation to completion
o Hold hiring managers, recruiting, and candidates accountable to abiding by security policies and procedures
o Work with other members of the background check team to identify and understand areas of risk and vulnerabilities to BW
o Ensure investigation results are treated with the highest confidentiality.
o Maintain database of applicants for future reference.
o Work effectively and collaboratively with other members/departments within BW.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
