WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM BEIERSDORF NORTH AMERICA:
Beiersdorf Inc.
is seeking a self-motivated individual who will deliver thought leadership and unlock commercial growth opportunities through the creation of winning, category centric strategies and the execution of effective category management principles.
Reporting to the Category Management and Shopper Insights Director, collaborating closely with account teams and utilising the full data and analytical resources of the company, the successful candidate will develop and leverage a deep understanding of the business, relevant categories and shopper profiles and apply these insights on your way to becoming a trusted category partner by demonstrating credible solid category thought leadership.
The right candidate will also leverage their US retail experience and expertise to build and raise the level of category management expertise across the department.
Responsibilities:
Define long term category visions and category strategies that provide the framework for all category management deliverables.
Ability to create and manage category scorecards and to develop meaningful, retailer relevant actions for growth from these.
Translate shopper understandings, consumer research, market data analysis and trend analysis into actionable, retailer relevant category insights.
Drive assortment management and define core assortment by category.
Provide unbiased recommendations on optimal category assortment to the retailer based on clear understanding of product, segment performance and current/ anticipated category trends.
Track distribution performance.
Develop recommended planograms based on a clearly defined shelf management strategy using purchase structure and other relevant insights.
Monitor and track shelf metrics; develop strategies and tactics to further align ambition vs the status quo.
Develop and coordinate in market tests, and report to internal and external customers.
Identify, prioritise and execute category projects that embed the category strategy and will unlock category growth.
Assist in the innovation market activation process by providing category insights and understandings, range and segment analysis, customer centric thinking and support for retailer Walmart category reviews.
Develop and coordinate operationalization of the category management customer engagement process that will lead Beiersdorf to become/hold category captains/advisors/challengers for prioritized categories and customers - demonstrating category thought leadership and by leveraging personal experience of the US CPG market landscape and deep local retailer knowledge.
Leverage strong relationship building skills and excellent communication skills to influence key stakeholders REQUIREMENTS:
BS/BA in relevant field, Marketing/Business Administration preferred+3 years of experience in a Category Management or similar disciplineUS - CPG Experience Ability to think strategically and increase effectiveness at achieving overall strategies in a highly collaborative environment.
Ability to connect strategies to tactics through practical insights into action recommendations to retailers.
Ability to manage projects with deadlines to meet customer needs.
Ability to develop strong relationships across many functions and external partners.
Strong oral and written communication skills to influence and secure cross-functional support.
Must have excellent analytical skills and business acumen to build strong business cases for change.
Must be technology savvy and have strong office productivity software skills (e.
g.
, PowerPoint, Excel, SAP) to use promotion databases, financial reporting and promotional analysis.
Must be self-starter, able to manage ambiguity, self-motivated individual.
